Principle of 532nm Laser Action

532nm is a green wavelength with a high absorption rate for melanin pigment. It is designed to selectively target pigmented lesions located in the epidermal layer of the skin.

The 532nm laser is primarily operated using the Q-switched method. This method involves instantaneously irradiating high-output energy for an extremely short duration of several nanoseconds, selectively destroying only the pigment particles.

The short pulse energy is absorbed by melanin and converted into thermal energy, and the resulting photomechanical shock causes melanin particles to be finely fragmented.

Some of these fragmented pigment pieces form tiny scabs and naturally fall off, while others are processed by the body's macrophages and gradually expelled through the lymphatic system.

Through this process, as the pigment is removed, you can expect visible changes where freckles lighten or improve.
