Precautions After Treatment

What is Melasma, as opposed to Blemishes?

Melasma differs from the simple phenomenon of excessive melanin production leading to skin pigmentation.

Pigment cells called melanocytes, which produce melanin in the deeper layers of the skin, become abnormally activated.

The melanin pigment produced spreads over a wide area and shows a pattern of recurrent appearance.

This can be understood as a complex pigmentation disorder that affects the dermal layer and persists for a long time.

External factors such as UV exposure and hormonal changes particularly act as important causes stimulating melanocytes.

At this time, microscopic inflammatory reactions and blood vessel-related factors in the skin interact in a complex manner.
