Erbium YAG lasers, however, can precisely deliver energy to the epidermal and dermal junction layers while minimizing thermal damage.

Erbium YAG Fraxel is a type of ablative laser, characterized by its 2940nm wavelength, which is highly absorbed by water.

This wavelength can precisely vaporize and remove tissue from the epidermis to the dermal junction. This helps increase the accuracy of treatment depth control and minimizes thermal damage, thereby reducing recovery burden.

It removes the target area through the water in the tissue without causing unnecessary thermal damage to surrounding tissues. This helps reduce the possibility of hyperpigmentation and allows for a relatively comfortable treatment process.

Difference Between DOE and MLA Methods

Fraxel laser energy delivery methods are broadly categorized into DOE and MLA. The DOE (Diffractive Optical Element) method delivers uniform energy to all irradiated spots and is characterized by its ability to stably disperse energy. However, its output can be limited, making the practitioner's expertise an important factor when treating scars.
