Using Erbium Yag instead of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Laser:

Carbon dioxide lasers reach deep into the skin, but they can cause strong thermal damage and relatively higher chances of hyperpigmentation.

Erbium Yag lasers minimize thermal damage while precisely delivering energy to the epidermal-dermal junction.

Customized Parameter Adjustment for Each Individual's Skin Condition:

Rather than simply relying on mechanical settings, we adjust the treatment depth and intensity to suit each individual's unique skin characteristics.

For thin skin, we apply multiple overlapping passes with low energy, while for thicker skin, a single high-output method is used. This meticulous adjustment reduces the burden of treatment.

Application of Overlap Technique:

For areas requiring improvement, such as fine lines, scars, and pores, the laser is applied with overlapping passes, allowing for precise adjustment of treatment intensity tailored to each specific area.

It can also be applied for managing fine lines on the back of the hands and neck. For body areas, which can generally be challenging to treat, we consider skin regeneration capabilities and sebaceous gland density to perform customized settings. Synergistic Effects of Fraxel Treatment through Skin Booster Delivery Technique:

Immediately after Fraxel treatment, tiny micro-channels in the skin temporarily open.

We utilize this window by applying skin boosters. This helps active ingredients to be effectively delivered to the dermal layer.

Considering deep scars or varying skin thickness in different areas, we customize the degree of overlap and intensity. This process ensures the creation of necessary pathways down to the dermal-epidermal junction.

When combined with skin booster treatments containing small particle sizes, such as PDRN or Juvelook, these open channels facilitate the absorption of essential regenerative ingredients into the dermis. This is expected to have a positive impact on improving pores, fine lines, and acne scars.

What is Fraxel Treatment?

Fraxel is a term derived from 'fractional,' meaning 'partial.' This treatment uses a method of delivering laser energy to specific areas at microscopic intervals, rather than applying it to the entire skin surface.

By creating tiny holes in the skin and stimulating it, this stimulation promotes the skin's natural healing process.

This method of inducing fractional damage to the skin offers the advantage of reducing the overall skin recovery period while still expecting general improvement in skin condition.

Ablative Fraxel and Non-Ablative Fraxel

Ablative Fraxel: This method precisely removes microscopic portions of the epidermal layer and delivers energy down to the dermal-epidermal junction. It aims for direct improvement of skin texture, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues, offering relatively clear improvements but may require a recovery period.

Non-Ablative Fraxel: This method preserves the epidermal layer while delivering thermal stimulation only to the dermal layer. It offers the advantage of faster recovery, but the improvement effects may be relatively limited in comparison.

Principles and Characteristics of Erbium Yag Fraxel

Erbium Yag Fraxel is a type of ablative laser characterized by its 2940nm wavelength, which is highly absorbed by water.

This wavelength can precisely vaporize and remove tissue from the epidermis to the dermal junction. This helps increase the accuracy of treatment depth control and minimizes thermal damage, thereby reducing the recovery burden.

This method removes the target area by utilizing the water content within the tissue, without causing unnecessary thermal damage to surrounding tissues. This reduces the possibility of hyperpigmentation and helps ensure a relatively comfortable treatment experience.

Differences Between DOE and MLA Methods

Fraxel laser energy delivery methods are broadly categorized into DOE and MLA types. The DOE (Diffractive Optical Element) method delivers uniform energy to all treated spots and is characterized by its ability to stably disperse energy. However, its output may be limited, making the practitioner's skill an important factor in scar treatment.

In contrast, the MLA (Microlens Array) method has a pattern where energy is concentrated in the center and weakens towards the periphery. This can be useful for treating deep scars, but excessive energy concentration in specific areas may lead to a longer recovery period.

What to Expect After Erbium Yag Fraxel Treatment

Our clinic's Erbium Yag Fraxel uses the DOE method for laser delivery,

ensuring uniform energy delivery across the entire skin, which helps reduce discomfort during the procedure.
